Katie Greenzang, MD, EdM- Principal Investigator Dr. Katie Greenzang is a pediatric oncologist and health services researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital, an Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at DFCI/BCH, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Greenzang’s research focuses on optimizing patient-provider communication and shared decision-making in children with cancer. She strives to improve communication about short and long-term side effects of cancer therapy to help patients and families make informed treatment decisions and to optimize quality of life for patients and survivors of childhood cancer.
Dr. Greenzang graduated from Harvard College and attended medical school at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her pediatrics residency and served as a chief pediatric resident at the University of Washington’s Seattle Children’s Hospital. She then underwent fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children’s Hospital where she conducted her post-doctoral research under the mentorship of Dr. Jenny Mack. She also holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is deeply engaged in medical education through teaching medical students and trainees, and by conducting research on the development of communication skills and professionalism. Dr. Greenzang’s clinical focus is on the care of children with extra-cranial solid tumors and survivors of childhood cancer.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her family, running, reading, cooking and eating, and doing word puzzles of all kinds.
Kendall Carpenter, MD, MPH Kendall is a current pediatrics resident in the Boston Combined Residency Program (BCRP). She attended Bowdoin College for undergrad where she studied Neuroscience and English and then Harvard Medical School and T.H. Chan School of Public Health where she obtained her MD and MPH. She plans to pursue a career in pediatric oncology with a research focus on global pediatric oncology and communication. Outside of work she loves to read, play board games, and spend time with family/friends.
Rossi Ferrari Fish, MBA Rossi is a Senior Clinical Research Manager for the Pediatric Outcomes Research Group. As an undergraduate student, she studied Public Health and Social Justice. Prior to joining Dana-Farber in 2021, Rossi spent several years working on HIV prevention and vaccine trials within a community health center. She recently graduated with an MBA in Healthcare Management and plans to continue focusing her career on research and health equity. When she's not at work, Rossi enjoys coaching volleyball and spending time at the beach.
Clara Hatch Clara is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Greenzang Lab. She recently graduated from Middlebury College, where she studied Psychology and Education.She hopes to continue conducting research and working with adolescents in the future. Outside of work, she loves to play tennis, do puzzles, and walk her dogs.
Lydia Haupt Levy Lydia is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Greenzang Lab. She recently graduated from Emory University where she studied psychology and religion. In the future she hopes to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology, focusing on her passions for healthcare equity and holistic approaches to health and well-being. Outside of work, Lydia loves spending time in nature, listening to podcasts, and being with her family and friends.
Bridgette Merriman Bridgette is a current medical student at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After graduation, she will begin her pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Bridgette’s research journey started as an undergraduate in the Sociology department at Boston College, where she completed qualitative research on the experiences of adolescent and young adult survivors of childhood cancer. She continued pursuing qualitative work while in medical school, including projects with adolescent parents and people seeking reproductive family planning care. She plans to pursue a career in pediatric oncology with a focus on adolescents and young adults, survivorship care, and palliative care. Outside of work, Bridgette enjoys walks along the esplanade, reading, cooking, sharing meals with friends and family, and teaching kickboxing classes.
Preston Croteau, MPA Preston is the Program Manager for the Pediatric Outcomes Research Group. Prior to joining Dana-Farber in 2023, Preston worked for a non-profit organization fundraising for pediatric cancer research and providing financial and emotional support to kids with cancer and their families. He obtained a Master's of Public Administration from Northeastern University and previously spent over ten years working in higher education administration and project management. When he's not at work, Preston likes to travel, cook, and spend time with his wife and two sons.
